asian medicine

from young, i have been introduced to asian medicine: the chinese herbs as well as the indonesian herbs, known as jamu. my early experiences were when i had a few seizures during my childhood.
though my parents believes in western medicine..my mom especially still uses the chinese medicines..is it just the tradition or the belief??

at the beginning, i never likes the herbs...the tastes, the smells..
but as i get older and learns more about the benefit of chinese herbs and medicine..I more appreaciate the herbs..and the methods used including the acupuncture and others.
according to western medicine: people who are paralysed due to stroke..almost impossible to be able to walk again. the nerves have been severely damaged.
but according chinese medicie: there are several methods that can be used to cure and the person may be able to walk on his own one day. i have seen a friend of my mother who was paralysed because of stroke is able to walk again after few months of treatment. Do not expect you can see the result instantly..it works slowly towards complete healing.

asian mediccation doesn't only involve herbs, acupuncture or massage. according to it, to have a healthy life, we must balance our way of life: the food we eat, our lifestyle.
for myself, i have been warned many times that my kidney is overworked because i often sleep after midnight...the physician can tell what is my diet and lifestyle just by taking my pulse and mentioned that the tiredness and lethargy i had were due to my own lifestyle..

when i tried to balance my lifestyle, i could feel the difference..
now i am more convinced that chinese medication as one of asian medication can still last until now because it is proven to work on many people. i understand now why my mom keeps using the chinese herbs along side with the western medicine.
